Nintendo has teamed up with Dark Horse to announce The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Secrets of the Zonai. The hardcover artbook is scheduled to launch on October 20, 2026.
The book explores the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom era, featuring around 300 pages of concept art, sketches, and development notes from both games. It will also include 50 pages of new character illustrations and 80 pages of lore that expand Hyrule's history, including the origins of the Zonai and the events leading up to Breath of the Wild.
Zelda veterans Eiji Aonuma, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and Satoru Takizawa are contributing to the project. The new lore will be officially canon, making the release especially appealing to fans interested in the franchise's history.
A special Hero's Edition will also be available alongside the standard hardcover. It includes a cloth map of the Depths, a replica of the Secret Stone of Time, and an art print featuring Link.
