The new installment in Capcom’s iconic franchise, the action-horror Resident Evil Requiem, has officially become the most successful launch in the series’ history on the Steam platform.
According to data from SteamDB, the game reached an impressive peak of 267,509 concurrent players. This significantly surpasses the results of the franchise’s previous leaders:
- Resident Evil 4 — 168,200 players;
- Resident Evil Village — 106,600 players.
The project has received exceptionally warm reviews from the gaming press. On the aggregators Metacritic and OpenCritic, the game holds an average score of 88, with a critics’ recommendation rate reaching 95%.
It is also worth noting that PlayStation may reconsider releasing major single-player titles on PC.
