The Sinking City 2 gets a global release map

Frogwares has revealed the global release schedule for The Sinking City 2. The sequel will launch on Tuesday, August 18, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The follow-up to the studio’s 2019 Lovecraftian detective game will once again take players to Arkham, a city familiar from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. This time, however, Arkham has been completely flooded, while the sequel puts a much greater focus on survival horror. The game is expected to lean more toward the atmosphere and gameplay of Resident Evil and Silent Hill, although investigation and detective work will still play an important role.

Players will have to explore the flooded streets of Arkham while dealing with the dead, who have returned to life and lurk beneath the water or in dark alleyways. The protagonist also has a deeply personal reason to enter this nightmare, as the soul of the person they love has been taken to the Dreamlands. The only way to bring her back is to venture into the dangerous world that awaits beyond.

The standard release is scheduled for August 18, while owners of the Premium Edition will be able to start playing one day earlier.

The Sinking City 2 has a recommended price of $49.99 on all platforms.
