In the world of esports, stories about brothers and sisters conquering the heights together are rare. Even rarer do such duos become the symbol of an entire era. That is precisely what the story of Indonesian sisters Cindy "Cinny" Siswanto and Michelle "Chell" Siswanto is today — the heart of Team Vitality, which recently once again confirmed its status as the best women's team in the world by winning the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational 2026 as part of the Esports World Cup.
In the final, the French organization confidently defeated NAVI 4-2, winning another championship title and $150,000 in prize money. However, behind the dry figures lies a much more interesting story — the story of two sisters who have been playing side by side for many years and together built one of the most successful teams in the history of women's Mobile Legends.
In an exclusive interview for Esports.gg, Cinny and Chell spoke candidly about their path, family, team roles, and the responsibility they feel as some of the main faces of women's esports.
The sisters' story began just as simply as it does for many modern players. Cinny was the first to install Mobile Legends. Later, her younger sister joined her, although it was Chell who first dared to compete in tournaments.
"I was the first to start playing in competitions. At first, it was just for fun," Chell recalls.
At that time, mobile esports was only gaining popularity in Asia, and there were far fewer opportunities for women than today. However, the sisters quickly realized that they didn't just want to play, but to compete with the best.
That was when the story began, which later turned into one of the most successful dynasties in women's MLBB.
Today, professional esports no longer surprises anyone. But a few years ago, the situation was completely different. Cinny and Chell's parents, like many others, did not view gaming as a future profession.
"At first, our parents were quite rightly worried, because esports was not considered a stable career back then. They wanted us to focus on our studies and future work. We convinced them that we could successfully combine both our education and professional gaming," Chell said.
Over time, the results answered all the doubts themselves. The first victories changed the family's attitude, and today the sisters are already multi-time world champions and the face of one of the world's most famous esports organizations.
In modern esports, rosters change almost every season. That is why Team Vitality's story looks special. The core of this roster has been playing together since 2019, when the team represented Bigetron Era.
After transitioning under the Vitality banner, the roster not only didn't lose its strength, but also continued to dominate the international scene. Cinny and Chell play a major role in this.
According to the sisters, years of living together gave them an almost instinctive understanding of each other.
"We have spent our whole lives together, so we know each other's habits and mindset very well. Sometimes we understand what the other wants to do even without words. Of course, communication is very important, but there are moments when we instinctively make the same decisions," Chell explains.
It is precisely this synergy that became one of the reasons why Team Vitality performs so consistently on the international stage.
In most teams, unsuccessful matches often become a cause of conflict. But in the case of the sisters, everything works completely differently. Chell admits that the biggest advantage of playing together with her sister is the feeling of absolute support.
"The biggest advantage is comfort. I know she experiences the same emotions I do. If one of us makes a mistake, we don't dwell on it. We support each other and move on. When you have a person by your side whom you've trusted your whole life, it's much easier to stay calm even in the hardest moments."
However, this does not mean at all that the sisters avoid criticism. On the contrary, Cinny explains that inside the game she makes no exceptions.
"During a match, I treat everyone equally. It doesn't matter if it's Chell or any other teammate. If someone made a mistake, I will say so, because that is precisely how the team gets stronger. On the server, we are teammates first and foremost."
It is precisely this honesty that helped Team Vitality remain a single mechanism even after many years of performing together.
Despite their family connection, the sisters' playstyles are fundamentally different. Chell, who plays on the Gold Lane, is responsible for stability, proper positioning, and clutching key moments.
"We trust each other very much. If my sister says she is covering me, I can act much more confidently and not doubt my decisions."
Cinny, on the other hand, is one of the main drivers of the team. She plays on the Mid Lane, performs the role of shotcaller, and sets the pace for the entire game.
"I like aggressive mages — it fits both my personality and my role in the team. As a shotcaller, I like to act first and set the pace of the game."
It is precisely the combination of two completely different styles that became one of the main reasons for Vitality's success.
After several world titles, expectations for Team Vitality are only growing. But the players themselves try not to think about the favorite status.
"Before big finals, we simply focus on our own game, trust our preparation, and try to enjoy the process. We stay disciplined, but at the same time, we don't forget to enjoy the moment. That is precisely what prevents pressure from affecting our game," Cinny says.
This approach has been bringing results for many years. Cinny and Chell are convinced that their mission has long gone beyond victories. They want their story to inspire other girls not to be afraid of choosing esports.
"It is very important to us that people are starting to appreciate the level of the women's scene more. We hope that our story will help the new generation believe: girls can perform at the highest level too."
That is why each new title for them means not only another trophy, but also one more step toward the development of women's esports.
The story of Cinny and Chell resembles other legendary family tandems.
In tennis, Serena and Venus Williams became the symbol of such success. Together, they won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles and remained among the best tennis players in the world for many years. Their example showed that a family bond can become a huge advantage in top-level sports.
Counter-Strike also has its iconic duo. Cousins Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač dreamed for many years of performing together, and in 2020 that dream came true after NiKo moved to G2 Esports. Together, they led the team to victories at IEM Katowice 2023 and IEM Cologne 2023, becoming one of the most successful family duos in the history of the discipline. Time and again, huNter- himself said that the opportunity to share the biggest victories specifically with his cousin held special meaning for him.
Cinny and Chell are walking a very similar path today. They don't just play on the same team — for years, they have been helping each other become better, proving that trust built in childhood can be just as important as individual skill.
After Team Vitality's new championship title, it is already hard to call their story a coincidence. It is an example of how talent, discipline, stability, and a genuine family bond can create a dynasty that defines an entire era in women's Mobile Legends.
