Embark Studios has revealed new details about the third Expedition in ARC Raiders, running from April 28 to May 4. During the five day window, players will get a new map, a new mode, a large ARC encounter, and significant changes to progression.
The key update is that Skill Points are now earned by dealing damage instead of building stash value. According to the developers, this shift is meant to make the experience more engaging and less grind heavy.
«We know that grinding for monetary value isn't the most exciting experience. By introducing damage-based objectives and trials instead of stash value, we're providing more freedom and variety in how you can complete the Expedition», — the team explained.
Key changes include:
- Skill Points are earned by completing a damage challenge using any weapon or gadget against any target
- A new map set in an abandoned coastal resort
- Missed Skill Points can be recovered at a cost of 300,000 currency each, after completing the main challenge
- A new “last call” feature allows late sign ups without bonus Skill Points
- Trials will remain active throughout the Expedition window
Rewards in ARC Raiders are tied to each player’s personal progression. This means that during your first Expedition you can only unlock the initial set of rewards, with additional tiers becoming available in subsequent Expeditions. All rewards earned are permanent and remain on your account after the Expedition ends.
Among the cosmetics, players can obtain the evolved Patchwork outfit, along with new customization options such as a helmet, bandolier, and leg accessories. There are also new color variations White Red and Black Green, as well as the Scrappy Turban. In addition, the Expedition indicator icon is upgraded with each completed run.
Bonuses include an increase of 12 stash slots per Expedition. For example, if the base maximum is 280, completing the first Expedition raises it to 292, the second to 304, the third to 316, and so on following the same pattern.
Players can also earn between 0 and 5 Skill Points by completing the damage challenge. Those on their second or third Expedition can catch up on missed points, with a maximum of 5 per catch up.
There is also a system of consecutive bonuses. These stack for each Expedition completed in a row but reset if one is missed. They include an XP boost from 5 percent to 15 percent, a Scrappy materials bonus from 6 percent to 18 percent, and an increase in repair efficiency from 60 percent to 80 percent.
As a Reminder, The RAM shortage may last until 2027 due to AI growth.
