The Witcher 3 | Gamescom hints at a new location in Songs of the Past

The design of CD Projekt Red’s booth at Gamescom may contain the first hint about the new location in The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past. The developers have not yet confirmed the exact setting.

The expansion will be released in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The Banner May Point to Cidaris

The image on the banner likely references the Belleteyn festival. Combined with the title Songs of the Past and the coastal scenery, this has led to speculation that the expansion will feature Cidaris — Dandelion’s homeland.

There is no official confirmation of this theory. At the same time, CD Projekt Red has already announced that the game will feature more Gwent.

The First Trailer Will Be Shown at Gamescom

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past will be presented during Gamescom Opening Night Live. The presentation will begin on August 25 at 8:00 p.m. Kyiv time.

The show is expected to be the expansion’s first major presentation. The developers may reveal plot details, the new location, and a more precise release date in 2027.

CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that The Witcher 4 is planned for release in 2028, although the game is unlikely to be shown at Gamescom.

As a Reminder, Paradox Interactive accidentally reveals new strategy game Afterworld ahead of Gamescom.
