The Witcher creator Andrzej Sapkowski has confirmed that he is working on a new novel set in the franchise's universe. The author plans to finish the book by the end of 2027. That is a relatively fast pace for Sapkowski, especially considering that his previous book, Crossroads of Ravens, was released only in 2024. It tells the story of Geralt's early adventures after he completed his training at the School of the Wolf.
Sapkowski has not revealed any details about the upcoming novel yet. The only confirmed information is that Geralt will once again be at the center of the story.
During the Copernicon festival in the Polish city of Toruń, Sapkowski was also asked whether he would consider writing a spin off focused on another character from The Witcher universe.
«I don't see the point in it», — the author said.
Meanwhile, the gaming side of The Witcher universe is also expanding. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to receive an ambitious remaster on September 29, featuring a large number of changes, while the game is scheduled to get its third story expansion, Songs of the Past, in 2027.
The Witcher 4 is currently planned for release in 2028 and will launch a new trilogy with Ciri as its main protagonist.
