Danish studio IO Interactive, known for the Hitman franchise, is finishing development of its ambitious spy action title 007 First Light.
The game offers a fresh take on James Bond, portraying him in a modern setting as a newcomer stepping into a world of global conspiracies, secret organizations, and espionage drama.
The project has attracted major attention for a long time, but new figures suggest it could become one of the most in-demand releases of 2027. Already, three million users have added the game to their wishlists, effectively confirming their intention to purchase it. This number does not include players who have already pre-ordered the game.

The game will feature more dynamic gameplay than Hitman, with plenty of gunfights, hand-to-hand combat, car chases, cinematic action sequences, and intense moments. This time, the developers are prioritizing cinematic storytelling over gameplay variety and nonlinear progression.
The main antagonist, the ruthless and cunning Bawma, will be portrayed by Lenny Kravitz.
007 First Light launches on May 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned for a later release.
