TV TOKYO Holdings has confirmed that several new gaming projects based on the Naruto franchise are currently in development, with releases planned for 2027 and beyond. The announcement is part of a large-scale brand expansion initiative tied to the 25th anniversary of the iconic anime series.
The information was revealed during a financial results briefing for the company's 2025 fiscal year, held in May 2026. Company executives emphasized that they view the franchise's 25th anniversary not as the peak of its popularity, but as the beginning of an entirely new chapter.
As part of this long-term roadmap, TV TOKYO plans to release a variety of new content, including animation projects and video games developed in collaboration with new partners.
The company is currently focusing on a Content as a Service (CaaS) strategy aimed at expanding the Naruto/Boruto universe globally far beyond the boundaries of traditional anime. In addition to gaming, TV TOKYO intends to invest heavily in merchandising, large-scale themed events, and even the creation of dedicated entertainment parks.
The demand for strong Naruto gaming releases has been building for years. Previous projects—including Naruto Shippuden, Naruto x Boruto Ninja Voltage, the mobile version of Ultimate Ninja STORM, and the more recent Naruto Kage—received mixed reactions and failed to fully meet community expectations, although collaborations with other games have continued to perform successfully.
At this stage, no details regarding the upcoming titles have been disclosed. Information about the developers, genres, target platforms, and global release plans remains unknown.
However, the use of the plural term "games" in the company's financial report clearly indicates that fans can expect multiple standalone projects rather than a single release.
As previously reported, Asus recently unveiled the limited-edition ROG Xbox Ally X20 featuring an OLED display and bundled AR glasses.
