Recently, Twitch Rivals, a division of the Twitch platform, announced a special Overcooked 2 tournament dedicated to International Women’s Day on March 8. The event, organized in collaboration with the female streamer guild Guild Women and sponsored by Honda, aimed to celebrate women in gaming.
However, some found the choice of Overcooked 2 — a cooperative kitchen simulator where players chop vegetables, put out fires, and serve orders under time pressure — somewhat questionable. Many perceived it as a sexist joke.
Twitch Rivals quickly responded with a post titled "Addressing the Women's Guild United Twitch Rivals show," explaining that the game was chosen by the Guild Women participants themselves through a vote, to emphasize freedom of choice without stereotypes. Sponsor restrictions (no violence or blood) also played a role. The event is still scheduled for March 8 with a live stream — no cancellations.
As a reminder, The Wolf Among Us 2 could launch in 2027.
