Ubisoft Officially Shuts Down Mobile Shooter Rainbow Six Mobile

Ubisoft has made the decision to permanently shut down the mobile shooter Rainbow Six Mobile. The game's servers will remain active until January 15, 2027, after which the project will be closed forever.

Despite the upcoming closure, the developers promise to release all previously planned content. A new in-game season will begin next week according to schedule, but the process of gradually winding down support will start closer to the end of this year. The company will share detailed information regarding the transition period in the coming weeks.

In its official statement, Ubisoft representatives called this a "difficult" decision. The company expressed its gratitude to players for their support, video creation, strategy sharing, and participation in tournaments throughout the project's lifespan. Moving forward, the Rainbow Six Mobile development team will be transitioned to other long-term strategic projects within the studio.

Rainbow Six Mobile was soft-launched in 2023 as a free-to-play shooter built on the success of Rainbow Six Siege. The project brought the classic tactical "Attack vs. Defense" model to mobile platforms and offered users a familiar roster of Operators. In total, the game went through 15 multiplayer seasons.

Until recently, the project was actively supported: early in September, the latest season, Operation Concrete Impact, launched with a new Operator and game mode, and at the end of the month, fresh cosmetic items were added to the game thanks to a collaboration with the developers of PAYDAY.
