Ukrainian SAND surpasses 200,000 players during its first week after release

Ukrainian extraction shooter SAND: Raiders of Sophie attracted more than 200,000 players in just one week after launching in early access. The project developed by Lviv based studio Hologryph and Kyiv based team TowerHaus also achieved a strong peak player count shortly after release.

The developers shared the first results and future plans for the game through their official social media channels. According to the teams, the deserts of the planet Sophie welcomed a large number of players almost immediately after launch.

According to SteamDB analytics, SAND reached a peak of more than 38,000 concurrent players on Sunday, June 28. The player base has been growing rapidly: on June 26, the developers announced that the game had reached its first 100,000 users, and just two days later that number had doubled.

«Since SAND launched a week ago, we have welcomed over 200,000 of you to Sophie’s Deserts!», — development teams said.

Hologryph and TowerHaus also revealed the project’s roadmap.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie launched in Steam Early Access on June 22. The game currently holds mixed reviews, with 55% positive ratings from more than 4,000 reviews. Players praise the title for its unique gameplay, successful three player co-op experience, and extensive trampler customization options. However, users also criticize technical issues, including unstable servers, frequent connection problems that can cause loot losses, and a large number of bugs.
