Today, August 14, the group stage of the Counter-Strike 2 tournament continues at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris. After two matchdays, the first playoff participants have already been determined, and the third day will be crucial for teams striving to take the next step toward the main stage of the competition.
Particular attention from Ukrainian fans will be focused on two matchups — B8 will play against Vitality, while FUT will face MOUZ. Both matches will take place in the upper bracket and will award the winners a direct spot in the playoffs.
For the Ukrainian scene, one of the main matches of the day will be the clash between B8 and Vitality.
B8 approach this matchup following a victory over PARIVISION in the group opening match. The Ukrainian team defeated their opponent on Cache with a score of 13-10 and continued their run through the upper bracket.
The B8 roster at EWC 2026 features alex666, npl, kensizor, esenthial, and s1zzi — a five-man lineup composed entirely of Ukrainian players.
Now, a much tougher test awaits B8 — Vitality, one of the tournament favorites. The winner of this series guarantees a spot in the playoffs, while the losing team will get another chance in the lower bracket.
An equally important match awaits FUT Esports. The Turkish organization will face MOUZ — one of the top favorites at EWC 2026 following their victory at BLAST Bounty Season 2 — in another match for a playoff spot.
Adding special significance to this matchup is the presence of two Ukrainians on the FUT roster — Dmytro "dem0n" Myroshnychenko and Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov.
FUT have already managed to secure a victory at the start of the tournament, defeating TYLOO with a score of 13-10 on Mirage. Now the team has to play a full BO3 series against MOUZ. A win will send FUT straight to the playoffs, while a defeat will drop the team to the lower bracket.
Aside from the two upper bracket matchups, today will feature matches where teams will no longer have room for error.
Another matchup deserves special attention — the Chinese derby between TYLOO and Lynn Vision. The two most famous Chinese teams will face off in a battle to continue their run at EWC 2026.
For both teams, this match will hold special significance, as not only further participation in the tournament will be at stake, but also the opportunity to prove who is currently the stronger team in Chinese Counter-Strike.
Lynn Vision will get the opportunity to show themselves against one of the main representatives of the Chinese scene. That is why the match promises to be high-stakes — a Chinese derby on the biggest stage of world Counter-Strike.
PARIVISION will face 100 Thieves. The winners of these series will continue fighting in the lower bracket, while the losing teams will exit EWC 2026.
Two more matches on the third day will take place in the lower bracket.
K27 will play against MIBR, and NIP will face BetBoom. The winners of these matchups will earn the opportunity to continue their path to the playoffs in the next round of the lower bracket.
The winner of the K27 vs. MIBR pairing will face Legacy in the next round, while the winner of the NIP vs. BetBoom match will await Astralis.
Thus, the third day of EWC 2026 will deliver several crucial series at once. But for the Ukrainian audience, the main attention will be focused specifically on B8 and FUT.
