Valve Corporation has announced a price increase for its portable gaming consoles, the Steam Deck OLED. The new prices are already live in the official Steam store and reflect a substantial rise in device costs.
The updated pricing affects the current OLED models:
- Steam Deck OLED 1TB — price increased from $649 to $949 (+$300)
- Steam Deck OLED 512GB — price increased from $549 to $789 (+$240)
In its official blog, Valve Corporation explained that the decision was driven by the rapid rise in memory and storage component prices. According to the company, the updated pricing directly reflects the current state of hardware costs as well as ongoing global logistics challenges affecting the entire technology industry.
As a reminder, No Man's Sky recently received the massive The Swarm update featuring large-scale space battles.
