Watch Dogs: Legion Director’s Cut Could Release in the First Half of 2027

According to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft is developing a Director’s Cut of Watch Dogs: Legion. Around 100 developers at Ubisoft Montreal are reportedly working on the project.

Back in February, journalist Tom Henderson reported that the updated version would serve as a sort of revival of the game and could feature additional content, a “night mode,” and new motion capture scenes.

Insider Gaming now claims that Ubisoft is targeting the first half of 2027 for the release of Watch Dogs: Legion Director’s Cut. Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm the project.

The original Watch Dogs: Legion received a mixed reception and failed to reach the popularity of its predecessors. However, the game introduced an interesting concept that allowed players to recruit almost any NPC in London, while also bringing back familiar characters such as Aiden Pearce and Wrench.

According to the report, around 100 Ubisoft Montreal developers are currently working on Legion. This is particularly notable following Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s recent comments that there are currently no new Watch Dogs projects in development.

The size of the team could indicate that Ubisoft has significant plans for bringing Watch Dogs: Legion back.
