Xbox may be preparing a surprise for Gamescom 2026. Well known insider NateTheHate recently claimed that the company is planning to reveal a new game during the event. According to him, the project is a new entry in an existing franchise, although he has yet to fully confirm whether it will definitely appear at Gamescom.
Windows Central editor Jez Corden has also addressed the rumour. He said he had heard about it and described the potential reveal as a "pretty big surprise" if the information turns out to be accurate.
Corden later suggested that the project could be an "unexpected sequel". However, he stressed that the information is still being investigated and should not be treated as confirmed.
The rumoured game is reportedly not related to Banjo-Kazooie and is not being developed by a Microsoft owned studio, despite being based on an Xbox IP.
Gamescom Opening Night Live is scheduled for August 25, followed by dedicated Xbox livestreams on August 26 and 27. These events could provide more details about the potential surprise.
