20th Century Studios has acquired the rights to adapt the popular horror game “99 Nights in the Forest,” created on the Roblox platform. The project is currently in the early stages of development.
The сюжет of the upcoming film will be based on the core gameplay concept: surviving in a cursed forest for 99 nights. Players must rescue four missing children while avoiding encounters with aggressive mystical creatures.
The film’s executive producers will be the founders of Grandma’s Favourite Games — Alec Kift, Matthew Houghton, and Cameron Angland. From the studio’s side, the project is being overseen by J. R. Young. At this stage, no director or screenwriter has been announced, and casting details remain unknown.
The original “99 Nights in the Forest” became one of the most successful projects on Roblox, ranking among the top seven most-visited games in the platform’s history, with a peak audience exceeding 14 million users.
As a reminder, VALORANT recently partnered with Discord as part of Patch 12.07.
