CD Projekt RED has hosted its promised REDstreams broadcast, revealing the details of the major Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077. The patch is timed to coincide with the premiere of the second season of the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
The Edgerunners 2 Update launches tomorrow, October 22, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date.
One of the biggest additions is the Clampdown quest, which will serve as a kind of prequel to Edgerunners Season 2. Players will also receive cosmetic items inspired by characters from the new season, along with the HKGN 102.0 FM radio station featuring music from the anime.
The developers are introducing new combat options as well. Players will be able to wield two pistols or revolvers simultaneously and fire rapidly with both hands. A dedicated skill tree will support this new playstyle. Arm cyberware will also receive additional customization options, while more than 40 new animations will be added for using these implants.
Night City is getting more content, too. New quests will affect the city's appearance, and 12 additional Tarot Arcana cards will be hidden throughout different locations.
Photo Mode will receive further features, while another major addition is cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io, connecting PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players.
