With a month still remaining before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, digital preorders for Rockstar Games' highly anticipated title have reportedly reached $630 million. According to estimates from Sensor Tower analysts, the game is already outperforming the commercial results of many full-scale AAA releases.
The figures cover digital copies for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Physical editions and collector's editions are excluded from the calculations.

Sony console owners account for approximately 74% of the total, with an estimated $440 million to $470 million in preorders. Xbox users make up the remaining share. Based on these figures, around 6.45 million copies of GTA VI have reportedly been preordered.
However, publisher Take-Two Interactive and developer Rockstar Games have yet to release official financial figures for the game's preorders. These numbers remain analyst estimates rather than confirmed sales data from the publisher.
According to a forecast by Newzoo analysts, Grand Theft Auto VI could generate between $3.25 billion and $5.2 billion in revenue during its first week on the market. Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that the game's development budget may have reached a record-breaking $1.5 billion.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, with a PC release planned for a later date.
