Epic Games has officially launched the new Fortnite Battle Royale season, Fortnite: Frenzied Harvest. Available since June 6, 2026, the update introduces the Broken Coast map, a spirit collection system, fresh weapons, a revamped Battle Pass, and multiple gameplay changes.
Following the showdown between the Ice King and The Foundation, players are now sent to Broken Coast, where collecting spirits, using their powers, and extracting them safely becomes the season’s core objective.
Explore the New Broken Coast Map
The biggest addition this season is Broken Coast, an island reshaped by the influence of the Zero Point. The map features both reimagined versions of familiar locations and entirely new areas, including the crystal-covered shores of Sunken Shores.
The island plays a central role in the new gameplay loop, as players must locate spirits, protect them, and extract them at designated zones.
Spirits Introduce a New Layer of Progression
Spirits can be discovered throughout matches and provide unique abilities once equipped. Some restore shields, others increase damage output, grant temporary invisibility, or improve access to high-tier loot.
However, finding a spirit is only the first step. Players must successfully reach an extraction point and defend the area until the process is completed. If eliminated beforehand, the spirit remains on the ground and can be claimed by another player.
Battle Pass and Exclusive Rewards
The new Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks or is included with a Fortnite Crew subscription.
Purchasing the pass immediately unlocks The Guardian, a customizable robotic skin controlled by a spirit. The outfit evolves as players collect more spirits during the season.
Players who obtain the pass before June 14 will also receive the bonus outfit Dylan the Golden Huntress along with matching cosmetic items..
John Wick Joins the Season
One of the standout Battle Pass rewards is John Wick, presented in a unique crayon-inspired visual style. The character is accompanied by a dog companion, referencing the iconic action franchise.
Additional outfits include Wolfe, Cluster, and PJ Heatwave, alongside a wide variety of cosmetics and collectibles.
New Weapons Arrive
Several weapons have been added at launch:
- Lancehead Pistol featuring a 21-round magazine and a reload mechanic that allows players to throw the magazine at enemies.
- Chaos Exploder Rifle, which fires explosive cube-shaped projectiles.
- Extending Focus Shotgun designed for improved long-range accuracy.
- Surgical Burst Rifle offering burst-fire capability with low recoil.
Later in the season, Epic Games plans to introduce the Bank Shot Pistol, whose bullets can ricochet off surfaces.
Mobility and Extraction Tools Expanded
Movement options have been enhanced through Seven's Gliders, allowing faster sliding and improved aiming while moving. Shock Stones, arriving later in the season, will enable multiple airborne jumps.
Players can also use the new Portable Extractor, which makes spirit extraction possible from almost anywhere on the island. Additional spirit-focused gadgets are planned for future updates.
Ranked Reset and New Endgame Scenarios
The ranked ladder has been reset, giving players a fresh opportunity to climb and earn new rewards.
Epic Games has also introduced Unreal Legends, an elite rank reserved for top Unreal-tier competitors with exceptional ratings.
Additional improvements include better audiovisual indicators, storm pacing adjustments, and refined Battle Bus aiming mechanics.
Later in the season, selected matches may feature an alternative victory condition. The Battle Bus can return to the map and allow teams to extract successfully. Under this system, multiple squads may secure a win within the same match, offering a different ending from the traditional last-team-standing format.
