Owners of the Premium Edition can start playing Gears of War: E-Day today, October 1, at 6:00 PM Kyiv time. The full release for everyone else is scheduled for October 6 on Xbox and PC, with the game also joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on the same day.
The launch also marks the beginning of Season 1: Emergence, which will run until December 1. The season will feature three limited-time events: Halloween, 20 Years of Gears, and Thanksgibbing. Each event will last two weeks and include a dedicated Versus Event mode, a Horde Siege mission, and exclusive rewards.
Versus Ranked will go live on October 13, giving players a week to get familiar with the game's maps, modes, and sandbox. Weekly challenges will also begin refreshing from that date, while the in-game shop will rotate its offers every Tuesday.
The game will receive at least five post-launch seasons. Season 2: Legacy will celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary and will begin with a special gift for all E-Day players on November 7, the anniversary of the original Gears of War. The following seasons are named Infiltration, Pendulum, and Devotion.
The Coalition has also implemented numerous changes based on feedback from the multiplayer beta. These include weapon balance adjustments, improved Gnasher aiming and hipfire consistency, movement and cover tweaks, Horde Siege and Versus changes, as well as various stability and performance fixes.
PC players will also get Advanced Shader Delivery, a feature designed to reduce shader compilation times. AMD hardware will be supported at launch, with NVIDIA support planned for later in October.
The developers have also listed several known launch issues. Playing through long sections without reloading checkpoints can cause memory problems, while offline play on PC will remain unavailable until October 6.
