On October 1, the final match of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament at the 2026 Asian Games concluded at Aichi Sky Hall in Japan. Indonesia’s national team lost to Myanmar 0:4 in the Best-of-7 series, securing the silver medals.
Myanmar took control from the very first game, dominating neutral objectives and securing every Turtle and Lord. In the second and third games, Indonesia attempted to fight back and held the lead during the early stages, but Myanmar regained control through successful team fights and Lord takedowns. In the fourth game, Myanmar fully secured its advantage, closing out the series at the 14-minute mark.
Indonesia’s head coach Kenny “Xepher” Deo said in his post-match comments that he was disappointed with the final score, but thanked his players for their effort throughout the tournament.

Before the tournament began, the Philippines were considered the main favorites to win the first-ever MLBB gold medal at the Asian Games. The team had extensive international experience, while Filipino representatives had won six of the previous seven MLBB World Championships. Indonesia, Malaysia, and Myanmar were also considered among the main contenders.
However, the tournament unfolded very differently from the pre-tournament expectations. Indonesia defeated the Philippines 2:1 in the quarterfinals before beating Mongolia 2:0 in the semifinals. Myanmar, meanwhile, defeated Cambodia 2:1 and then overcame Malaysia 2:0. As a result, these two teams faced each other for the first-ever MLBB gold medal at the Asian Games.
