Gray Newell, Son of Valve Founder Gabe Newell, Set to Make His Debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Gray Newell, the eldest son of Gabe Newell and president of Valve Corporation, will compete in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, which begins on June 13. The news was first highlighted by Reddit user Worrissey within the Steam community.

Since 2021, Newell has raced for Heart of Racing, a team co-founded by driver Ian James, businessman Ian Bernier, and Gabe Newell himself. The 2026 season marks Gray's debut campaign in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Prior to this, he competed in the GT4, GT America, and GT World Challenge America series.

At Le Mans, Gray will share an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo with Jonny Adam and Eduardo Barrichello. Heart of Racing will also field a second entry in the race, featuring co-founder Ian James among its drivers.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the oldest and most prestigious motorsport events in the world. First held in 1923 and run annually since 1949, the endurance race challenges teams of three drivers to cover the greatest possible distance within a 24-hour period. Drivers typically rotate every two to four hours throughout the event.

Earlier, EA Sports FC 26 predicted the winner of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
