Diablo IV has launched its second story expansion titled Lord of Hatred, bringing a large amount of new content and continuing the game’s narrative Diablo IV.
The expansion is now available on PC via Steam and Battle.net, as well as on both PlayStation and Xbox generations. Alongside its release, the thirteenth season has begun, introducing numerous free updates and new activities.
The story of Lord of Hatred introduces a new narrative set in the region of Skovos, once the homeland of Lilith and Inarius, now ruled by an oracle queen and an Amazon queen. The central antagonist is the Lord of Hatred Mephisto Mephisto, who returns in a new form as a massive demon after abandoning his wolf guise and attempts to dominate the entire Centurion.
The biggest additions are two new classes. The Paladin returns, and a new Warlock class is introduced, previously debuting in Diablo II: Resurrected.
Critics have given Lord of Hatred strong early reviews, while player feedback remains more mixed. Players praise the new mechanics and the two classes but report technical issues and long queues at launch. Some problems have already been resolved, while others are expected to be fixed soon.
