Roblox is introducing a new AI-based system that will transform messages containing prohibited content. The feature is designed to enhance child safety.
Recently, Roblox announced the introduction of three age-based player groups, where messages from users in different age categories were blocked with locks or replaced by dots. Now, an AI system will be implemented to summarize conversations and display a report at the top of the chat window.
This means that users who have not verified their age will still be able to understand the context of conversations, even if they cannot actively participate in them.
The update also introduces a new way of communication between servers. Players will now see “Here” and “Global” options in the chat window. “Here” limits conversations to the current server, while “Global” connects users across multiple servers, supporting up to 200 participants.
The global chat is not fully open. Roblox groups users by language, region, and age to ensure that conversations remain within similar age categories. This is intended to reduce risks while expanding social interaction.
As a reminder, the UK government has established an Esports Advisory Group.
