According to insider Tom Henderson, Sony's State of Play presentation on June 2 could feature at least two major announcements. The expected reveals include a new God of War title and a fresh look at Break In, the live-service project previously known as Fairgame$.
Rumors about the next God of War have been circulating for months. Multiple insiders claim the game will focus on Faye, Kratos' wife and Atreus' mother. The project has often been discussed alongside God of War: Sons of Sparta, which was announced and released earlier this year.
Henderson, who is widely regarded as a reliable source for gaming industry leaks, previously reported on new God of War projects before Sons of Sparta was officially unveiled. He now believes the upcoming State of Play will finally introduce the next major entry in the franchise.
The insider claims the reveal was originally planned for April but was later postponed to June for unknown reasons.
Henderson also expects Sony to reintroduce Fairgame$, which may now be called Break In. The multiplayer live-service game is being developed by Haven Studios and was first announced in 2023. Reports of development challenges surfaced after studio founder Jade Raymond left the company.
Very little is known about the rumored God of War project. Current reports suggest it may return to a more traditional action-focused style, though some insiders compare its combat to Devil May Cry rather than the classic God of War games. The title is also rumored to explore multiple mythologies instead of focusing solely on the Norse setting associated with Faye.
None of these details have been officially confirmed. However, if the reports are accurate, players should learn much more during tomorrow's State of Play presentation.
