The second round of the Demacia Cup Global Invitational 2026 quarterfinals has concluded. Following the results, Team WE and HANJIN BRION secured victories over FlyQuest and LGD Gaming, respectively, booking their spots in the semifinals of the international tournament.
The quarterfinals proved dramatic for Western fans, as the Chinese squad Team WE defeated FlyQuest 3:2 in a tense series. Jungler Wang "Monki" Meng-Qi and bot laner Moon "About" Hyun-seok showcased confident play throughout the entire series. Despite the defeat, FlyQuest's mid-jungle duo of Song "Quad" Su-hyeong and Johnson "Gryffinn" Le also performed at a high level. For the North American team, it is yet another bitter 2:3 loss to an Eastern squad, following similar exits at Worlds 2024 and MSI 2025. However, their performance at the tournament allowed the young roster to prove themselves ahead of the 2027 season.
Meanwhile, HANJIN BRION continues to dominate the tournament. In the parallel match, they claimed a convincing 3:1 victory over LGD Gaming, once again demonstrating excellent team fighting and individual mechanics. The performance of support Namgung "Namgung" Seong-hoon deserves a special mention. LGD's top laner Noh "Burdol" Tae-yoon played wonderfully on Ornn in the first game but couldn't maintain that level in the subsequent games of the series.
All expectations are now fixed on the upcoming semifinals, where Team WE, the sole remaining LPL representative at the tournament, will face off against BRION. The Chinese squad previously defeated BRION 2:1 in the Swiss stage; however, the Korean team is expected to be the favorite thanks to their cleaner gameplay in recent matches. Given the overall chaos and inconsistency of the participants at this event, the rematch promises to be highly spectacular.
The winner of this series will meet the victor of the other semifinal, featuring KT Rolster and BNK FEARX, in the grand final.
