Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, best known for playing The Mountain in the “Game of Thrones” series, attended the EWC 2026 CS2 Grand Final. The Icelandic actor and strongman will watch the tournament’s biggest match live at the arena in Paris.
However, Björnsson did not come here by chance. The actor is an avid gamer himself, with Counter-Strike among his favorite games. His in-game nickname is The Mountain, and according to him, he has already spent around 500 hours in the game.
Besides Counter-Strike, Hafþór is also interested in other esports titles, including StarCraft.
One player holds a special place in his appreciation of CS — Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev. Björnsson considers the Ukrainian the GOAT of Counter-Strike and now has the opportunity to watch the world’s best players live on the biggest EWC stage.
In “Game of Thrones,” Björnsson played Gregor Clegane, better known as The Mountain, one of the series’ most iconic characters. He stands around 2.05 meters tall, while his professional strongman career brought him numerous international titles and world records.
Now he has another arena for battle — Counter-Strike.
And today, The Mountain decided to personally attend the biggest CS2 battle of the year. Now we only have to wait and see which team he will support in the final — FUT or Spirit.
As a reminder, The Final Day of EWC 2026: Brazilian derby and the FUT — Spirit Grand Final.
