Valve rolled out a minor nighttime update for CS2, focusing on small but noticeable tweaks to gameplay, sound, and overall stability.
In terms of gameplay, the behavior of Molotov and incendiary grenades has been adjusted. If a grenade bounces off a player, a one-time fuse extension is now applied. This change is intended to prevent grenades from exploding mid-air after their timer expires if they fail to hit a surface. At the same time, players have already noticed a side effect: after hitting a player model, Molotovs and incendiary grenades can now remain in the air slightly longer.
Special attention was also given to audio. An issue causing performance problems when launching CS2 without an audio device has been fixed, and several adjustments were made to knife sounds. In practice, Valve simply increased the sound levels without making major changes to the underlying audio system.
The patch also includes a number of technical fixes. Issues with the visualization of the cl_ent_bbox parameter for certain classes of rigid dynamic objects were resolved, alongside general stability improvements.
Maps were not left untouched either. On Nuke, the rendering bounds of the hanging helmet model were adjusted to prevent it from casting shadows outside the visible area. The Warden and Sanctum maps have been updated to their latest versions from the Workshop.
As a reminder, Boars Gaming are leading PMGLL S3 after the first day of the finals.
