Studio Bungie has officially credited an artist whose work was used without her permission in promotional materials and early versions of the shooter Marathon.

In May 2025, Scottish artist Fern "4nt1r34l" Hook accused Bungie of taking elements from her previous work and using them in the Marathon alpha. Following an investigation, the studio acknowledged the validity of the accusations, stating that a former employee was responsible for appropriating the artwork.

At the time, the developers removed all gameplay footage from an upcoming broadcast and announced they were conducting a thorough review to eliminate any "improperly obtained" art from the game.

Seven months later, Hook published a brief statement on her X account: "The art situation with Marathon has been resolved with Bungie and Sony Interactive Entertainment in my favor." Hook appeared in the game's credits as a "visual design consultant."

As a reminder, NaVi defeated Monte in a hard-fought match.
