The Esports World Cup Foundation has revealed the format, schedule, prize pool, and qualification path for this year’s Call of Duty Black Ops 7 tournament.

The tournament, which will take place in Riyadh in August, will feature a prize pool of $1.8 million. The event will be held just a few weeks after this year’s COD Champs, where a similar amount of prize money will be up for grabs.

The competition will run from August 5 to August 9. A total of 16 of the world’s best teams will participate, initially competing in a group stage to secure spots in the playoffs.

Tournament format:

Group Stage:

  • 16 teams (divided into two groups)
  • Double-elimination bracket
  • Matches played in a Best-of-5 format
  • The top four teams from each group advance to the playoffs

Playoffs:

  • 8 teams
  • Single-elimination bracket
  • Matches played in a Best-of-7 format
  • The Grand Final will be played as a Best-of-9

Qualification path for the Esports World Cup (Call of Duty):

  • 1 slot reserved for OpTic as the reigning champions
  • 11 slots allocated to organizations from the Call of Duty League
  • 3 slots decided through the Call of Duty Challengers Finals
  • 1 slot reserved for the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier

As a reminder, the first results of the Female Pro League: Frozen Diva S1 playoffs have already been announced.
