According to data published by Esports Charts, Counter-Strike 2 has significantly outperformed VALORANT in tournament viewership metrics during the first half of 2026. CS2 leads across all major categories, including watch time, peak viewership, and average audience.

Counter-Strike generated nearly 205 million hours watched, compared to just over 130 million hours for VALORANT. The highest peak viewership for a CS2 event reached 1.38 million concurrent viewers during IEM Kraków 2026. In comparison, VALORANT's biggest audience peak during the same period was approximately half a million viewers lower, with 883,000 concurrent viewers recorded at Masters Santiago 2026.

Average viewership also favored Counter-Strike. CS2 events attracted more than 292,000 viewers on average, while VALORANT tournaments averaged 141,000 viewers.

Despite these figures, VALORANT accumulated a larger total broadcast duration within the analyzed period, reaching 926 hours compared to 702 hours for Counter-Strike.

This makes Counter-Strike’s lead even more notable. A larger amount of airtime generally creates more opportunities to accumulate watch hours, particularly during extended tournament circuits. Although VALORANT featured more broadcast coverage overall, Counter-Strike still achieved a substantially larger audience across all key engagement metrics.

As a reminder, Garena recently launched the Fire Kickoff football campaign in Free Fire.
