Netflix has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 will arrive in Fall 2026. The exact release date has not been revealed, but this window usually means a period from the middle of September to early December.
The first season, released on September 13, 2022, followed the story of David Martinez, a street kid who quickly becomes involved in a life of crime. With strong character writing, a vibrant visual style, and solid world building, the series became an instant hit and is often credited with helping Cyberpunk 2077 regain momentum, pushing the game past 20 million copies sold.
Netflix and CD Projekt Red announced the new season through separate social media posts. Netflix shared the tagline "New crew. Same chaos. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is coming this fall. Only on Netflix."
So far, four new main characters have been confirmed. Weak Kingsley is a veteran Edgerunner who lives in the shadow of his former glory. Roman Carax is a young cinephile obsessed with documenting the lives of others. Talia Yang comes from a corporate background but seeks a criminal life. D is a Snake Nation netrunner on a path of revenge.
A teaser for the new season has already appeared on the official Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube channel. The trailer will premiere on Monday, June 29 at 11:30 am ET. The description confirms that Season 2 will be a standalone story featuring a new cast thrown into a lawless and unforgiving world, with Night City shown "at its most brutal".
The season is directed by Kai Ikarashi, with Kanno Ichigo as lead designer, while Bartosz Sztybor serves as showrunner, writer, and producer. Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 will also appear at Anime Expo, where a panel on July 3 will feature key members of the creative team.
