Embark Studios has launched the first wave of testing for a separate, adapted version of its extraction shooter ARC Raiders for the Chinese market. The original game was released in October 2025, and creating a modified version for China is a common practice for shooter releases in the region.
During testing, local players discovered new map conditions, the most notable of which is a mode called Rebellion Incident. Its mechanics are designed primarily for a PvE audience: by default, players cannot damage one another, while the mode features reduced difficulty and an abundance of resources. However, any player can deliberately initiate a "rebellion," gaining a traitor status and becoming marked with a red icon on both the compass and map for the entire lobby to see.
The community has also uncovered references to other gameplay modifiers:
Although ARC Raiders has yet to achieve mainstream popularity in China, a dedicated group of fans has been actively exploring the test version and sharing screenshots of their discoveries on social media.
Western players who prefer PvE-focused content have responded positively to the newly discovered mechanics and hope to see them introduced to the global version of ARC Raiders in the future.
As a reminder, NAVI finished fourth at PGS 2026 Circuit 2 - Series 2.
