Epic Games has shared its vision for the use of artificial intelligence in the gaming industry. The company emphasized that its goal is not staff reductions, but a significant increase in efficiency.

During the Gamescom Latam conference, Stephanie Arnett, Senior Manager of External Development for Fortnite, addressed concerns about mass layoffs caused by automation. She noted that the company is actively testing various tools to support its projects.

“I know everyone’s biggest fear is: ‘Oh my God, AI is going to take all our jobs.’ That is not our goal. The goal is to make us more efficient.”

Epic Games sees AI as a way to dramatically reduce the time required for certain tasks. According to Arnett, work that previously took a person 10 hours could now be completed much faster with the help of AI.

The company is already exploring the use of AI tools in the art sector, although specific implementation methods and technical details have not yet been disclosed.

Epic Games also plans to maintain full control over its AI integration strategy. The company does not intend to incorporate third-party AI tools or partner data into its systems, stating that Epic’s scale allows it to define its own direction and standards for development.

As a reminder, Natus Vincere won the PUBG EMEA Championship: 2026 Spring and qualified for the Esports World Cup 2026.
