Epic Games has filed a lawsuit against Hayden Cohen, known in the Fortnite community by the alias AdiraFNInfo, who had been publishing information about upcoming collaborations. Unlike most insiders who typically dig through game files or receive tips from third parties, Cohen was an Epic contractor and had signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Epic did not specify a exact damages amount in the lawsuit, but claims that Cohen's actions harmed relationships with partners, led to reduced player engagement, lost revenue, and resulted in costs associated with investigating and responding to the unauthorized disclosure of information.
AdiraFNInfo emerged in early January and revealed around ten collaborations that have since taken place, starting with the South Park event. At the end of February, his Twitter and Discord accounts suddenly disappeared, and this lawsuit from Epic was the first news about the insider's fate.
Epic notes that some of these partnerships may have been cancelled specifically due to the leak, which forms part of the damages cited in the lawsuit. However, it remains likely that at least some of these franchises will appear in Fortnite over the coming months.
As a reminder, Team Liquid and Marvel Rivals unveiled a joint collection of apparel and accessories.
