The FiveM modification for Grand Theft Auto 5 has managed to attract more active players than GTA 5 itself over the past week. According to recent data, the mod reached a 24 hour peak of 112,906 concurrent users.

FiveM is a platform that allows players to access custom GTA Online servers and is primarily known for its roleplaying communities. Rockstar Games acquired the development team behind the project, Cfx.re, back in 2023, which soon sparked speculation about a potential Steam release that could make installation far more convenient.

At the moment, FiveM still does not have an official Steam store page. Previously, the only way to download the mod was through the team’s website, but it can now be added to the Steam library as a custom game or installed via a direct Steam link.

FiveM has already recorded an all time peak of 120,000 players, surpassing both GTA 5 Legacy and GTA 5 Enhanced earlier this week. The surge in activity followed an update that integrated the mod directly into Steam, moving away from the outdated Source SDK Base 2007 framework. With new assets recently appearing on the Steam backend, this may indicate that Rockstar and Cfx.re are preparing a dedicated store page in the near future.

As a reminder, The Roblox game “Steal A Brainrot” is getting a feature-length film adaptation.
