On March 24, 2026, it was reported that three well-known French studios — Spiders, Kylotonn, and Cyanide had filed for insolvency with the Commercial Court of Lille Métropole. Alongside them, Nacon Tech, a company specializing in motion capture, also initiated the same procedure. All of these entities are part of the publisher Nacon.
This development follows the financial difficulties of Nacon itself, which had already filed for judicial reorganization in February 2026 due to issues with partially repaying its bond debt. At the time, the company stated that the move was aimed at preserving the business, protecting jobs, and gaining time to negotiate with creditors.
The Paris-based studio Spiders is best known for the RPG GreedFall and its sequel. Kylotonn has recently focused on racing simulators, particularly the WRC series. Cyanide’s portfolio includes the Styx stealth-action games, the Blood Bowl franchise, and other titles. In total, Nacon employs over a thousand people across 25 subsidiaries, including 16 development studios.
So far, there have been no reports of массові layoffs, but the procedure has already affected employee payments: according to French sources, delays have impacted around 320 developers. The company emphasizes that its top priority is preserving jobs and stabilizing the business.
At present, all previously announced projects remain in development, although their future will largely depend on the outcome of the reorganization process.
