Frogwares has unveiled a new trailer for The Sinking City 2 and confirmed that the Lovecraftian survival horror game will launch on August 18 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Alongside the announcement, the studio released a playable demo. Available on PC via Steam, it lets players experience roughly the first hour of the adventure.
Set in a dark Lovecraft-inspired version of 1920s Arkham, The Sinking City 2 follows occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty as he searches for a way to save his girlfriend Faye after a ritual leaves her trapped in a mysterious sleep. The flooded city is now overrun by eldritch horrors and supernatural threats.
Players will battle monstrous creatures using period-inspired weapons, explore flooded streets by foot and boat, manage scarce resources, investigate optional mysteries, and uncover a morally complex story rooted in Lovecraftian mythology.

Frogwares publishing director Sergiy Oganesyan said the development process was heavily affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. According to him, the team regularly faced power outages, air raid alerts, and constant disruptions, forcing developers to repeatedly adapt their plans.
«Despite all this, we’re keeping our heads up. We’re beyond proud and in awe of how we’ve come together through all of this, and we’re happy to have finally brought the game to a point where we can see its release on the horizon», — Oganesyan said.
