Goals AB, the studio behind the football simulator GOALS, has announced its official esports ecosystem.

The developers position GOALS as a gameplay-focused alternative to traditional licensed football simulators. The Stockholm-based studio aims to build a sustainable competitive scene from the ground up, with player skill, fair competition, deep gameplay mechanics, and a spectator-friendly viewing experience serving as its core pillars.

The new professional competitive system will be built around two primary tournament tiers:

  • GOALS Majors: Year-round online tournaments where the top 500 players in the global rankings will compete for qualification points and status.
  • GOALS Masters: The season-ending offline championship, which will serve as the premier event of the competitive calendar. It will feature the world's best players, who will qualify through previous championship results or a series of challenging qualification stages.

The inaugural competitive season will begin this summer with the GOALS Open series, featuring a total prize pool of $10,000. The tournament schedule is as follows:

  • July 20, 2026: Global registration opens.
  • August 7–9: Regional open qualifiers.
  • August 14–16: Regional finals across three regions (Europe & Africa; North & South America; Asia, Middle East & Pacific).
  • September 12, 2026: Live offline Grand Final in Stockholm, Sweden.

Reminder: Valve has reworked the bomb explosion mechanics in Counter-Strike 2.
