Late in 2025, Arrowhead had to pause new content to fix technical problems. In recent weeks, two Premium Warbonds were released for Helldivers 2. The Redacted Regiment Warbond added suppressed weapons, C4, and armor that reduces noise and enemy detection. The Siege Breakers Warbond focused on loud entrances and destructive firepower. The Eye of Liberty cape is set to be another free reward, though enthusiasm among players seems lower than the studio likely expected.
To claim the Eye of Liberty, players must log into the game anytime between February 1 and 28. Eligible players will receive the cape on March 2. Many have pointed out that the new cape is a simple recolor of the Eye of Freedom, issued on the first anniversary in February 2025 along with the B-22 Model Citizen armor. This year’s reward does not include armor, with one user joking that gold-plated armor would not be ideal for blending in.
Arrowhead has previously given away capes to mark events, including after a Steam controversy over Sony requiring a PlayStation ID. That restriction was lifted and players even helped restore the game’s rating. The Pillars of Freedom cape was eventually issued in 2025, over a year later. Many players have also requested that Arrowhead allow preorder capes to be purchased in the in-game store so that those who missed the launch or play on Xbox could obtain them.
