A practical overview of the power system. As your AIC factory grows and new facilities are added, managing electricity becomes a critical task. An energy shortage can cause certain buildings to power down, which in turn disrupts entire production chains and slows overall progress.
Below is a reworked explanation of how the power system functions in Arknights Endfield and what steps you can take to increase its output, written in a way that differs from the original source.
Understanding the power system
The state of your power network can be checked through the Automation Core. This interface provides a clear summary of how much energy your factory is generating and consuming, along with additional data on production efficiency and resource usage.
Initially, the factory generates 200 units of power. Any surplus energy is stored in a reserve, which can hold up to 100,000 units. When consumption exceeds generation, the system begins drawing from these reserves. Once the reserve is fully depleted, facilities will start shutting down automatically.
Ways to increase power output
Expanding your power supply requires the use of Thermal Banks. These structures serve as generators and become available after being unlocked in the Power section of the AIC Plan research tree. Players can construct Thermal Banks manually or place them using blueprints. After construction, they must be linked via Transportation Belts, and a suitable resource must be assigned to the output port to enable power generation.
Thermal Banks convert specific materials into energy, and each material provides a different amount of power:
In the early stages, Originium Ore is usually sufficient to cover power needs and support the expansion of Relay Towers. However, as the factory continues to scale up, relying solely on Originium becomes inefficient. At that point, switching to higher-output materials is necessary, since increasing power indefinitely by adding more Thermal Banks is not a viable long-term solution.
