Since there is no official matchmaking anymore, the easiest way to play together is through community servers, which are still supported by thousands of players around the world.
- To play together, one of the players needs to open the server browser in the game (Find Servers / Community Servers). In this list you can see thousands of available servers with different modes.
- Once one player has joined a server, their friends can easily join through the Steam friends list. To do this, open your friends list, find the friend who is already in the game, right-click on their name and select Join Game. If the server is not full and has free slots, the game will automatically connect you to the same session.
- If joining through the Steam friends list doesn’t work, you can simply share the server IP with your friends. To do this, right-click on the server you plan to play on and select View Details — a panel will appear showing the server’s IP address. Send this IP to your friends, and they can connect by using the console command connect (IP).
This method is the simplest because it does not require creating your own server, configuring ports, or using third-party services. You just need to find a good community server and invite your friends to join it.
