How to Upgrade the Howling Hill Camp to Level 2 in Crimson Desert

Upgrading the Greymanes’ base camp at Howling Hill unlocks access to better resources, stronger support, and new opportunities while exploring the world. This camp is one of the first hubs you’ll work with, but reaching Level 2 isn’t as simple as just following the main story.

Steps to Upgrade Howling Hill Camp to Level 2

To upgrade the Greymanes’ camp to Level 2, you need to complete the faction quests “Grounds of Sunrise” within the “Embers of Return” storyline. This quest chain requires you to find missing Greymane members and gather a certain amount of resources in the camp, after which the final camp expansion quest will become available.

Once you unlock the camp expansion quest in the “Embers of Return” chain, open the map and use the inspection option:

• On gamepads: hover over the Howling Hill camp and press Y or Triangle.
• On keyboard and mouse: simply double-click the camp icon with the left mouse button.

Requirements for Expanding Howling Hill

After opening the camp inspection menu, go to the “Missions” tab and select “Howling Hill Camp – Second Expansion.” To upgrade the camp to Level 2, you must meet the following requirements:

• You need 4 Greymanes members to complete the expansion.
• The camp must have at least 60 Stone, 60 Wood, and 400 Provisions stored. This can be done via Donating to Karl.
• The camp must also store at least 1600 Copper (equivalent to 16 Silver coins).

Once all of the above requirements are met, you can start the mission to upgrade the camp to Level 2.

What to Do If Greymanes Are Marked as “Dispatched”

When trying to start the camp expansion mission, you may find that you don’t have enough available Greymanes because some are marked as Dispatched. This means they are currently on another mission and will be unavailable until it is completed.

How to Cancel Dispatch Missions

If you want to prioritize upgrading the camp, you can recall the Greymanes from their current tasks:

1. Approach the character named Ross and select the Mission Dispatch tab.
2. Active missions will appear at the top of the list. Simply choose Cancel Mission.

This will not only return the Greymanes to the camp but will also fully refund all resources spent on their mission. You will then have free Greymanes available to assign to the Howling Hill camp expansion.
