The founder of the Ukrainian game studio GSC Game World, Serhii Hryhorovych, has already registered the trademark S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. He spoke about this in comments for the Ukrainian edition of Forbes Ukraine.
Work on the game began in February this year, and development will take several years. The idea for creating S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. Bermuda SOS came to Hryhorovych several years ago.
The project is being developed by Hryhorovych’s new team, which includes several developers who previously worked on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 1. However, GSC Game World is not involved in the creation of S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. “I am leading the team myself. There are six developers in total, four of them are in Ukraine, and two work remotely,” he said.
Hryhorovych estimates the cost of the full development cycle at several tens of millions of dollars.
“S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was developed for $2 million, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for $70 million,” Hryhorovych said.
He also noted that he is currently funding the project himself, but if development requires more money, he will be able to find investors.
Earlier, Natus Vincere defeated The Mongolz in the quarterfinal of the ESL Pro League Season 23.
