An exclusive interview with FURIA player molodoy, along with the full material, will be available in our new blog.
Interviewer: Hi. First of all, how are you feeling? I know you were sick throughout the entire group stage. How difficult was that, and are you ready for the playoffs now?
molodoy: I’m alright. It gets easier over time, but I’m still sick. For example, I had a fever today. It’s getting better, but some difficulties remain.
Interviewer: In any case, congratulations on making the playoffs. What are the emotions like, and who was the toughest opponent in the group?
molodoy: Probably the first game. We lost right away, and that made it clear that things wouldn’t be as easy as before. We had to switch on immediately.
Interviewer: You’ve recently joined the tier-1 scene. Did you have an adaptation period? From the outside, it looked like things started working for you instantly. Did you feel a moment when things suddenly became easier?
molodoy: Not suddenly, but it definitely becomes easier over time. The only problem is English. It’s still unresolved and will only improve with time. I think everything will be fine.
Interviewer: Is there a specific skill you’ve significantly improved during this period?
molodoy: I definitely improved my teamplay and game understanding. The team gives me a lot. Playing with players like Marek and FalleN, I can absolutely become an IGL in the future. I’m getting a full understanding of many aspects. There are shared things and a lot of new ones.
Interviewer: If we hypothetically swapped you and s1mple, which team do you think would benefit more right now?
molodoy: I don't know, I can’t talk like that. It even feels uncomfortable to discuss.
Interviewer: And how do you feel about his results overall?
molodoy: I followed him throughout my entire childhood and looked up to him.
For me, he will always remain a legend, and I can’t hate him.
Interviewer: Was there any unexpected feedback from your teammates or coach that surprised you?
molodoy: There were many such moments. That’s the whole point of a team. We solve problems. If someone doesn’t like something, we talk it through to come to a shared understanding. Communication is the most important thing in a team.
Interviewer: Maybe you have a concrete example?
molodoy: I can’t think of one right now.
Interviewer: Have you stopped getting nervous before big matches? I feel like when someone goes on a big stage, it happens quite often.
molodoy: I don’t know, I don’t get nervous at all. I’ve never said otherwise.
Interviewer: You didn’t say it, but I think there must be at least some nerves.
molodoy: No, none. Always full confidence.
Interviewer: Always full confidence?
molodoy: Yes.
Interviewer: So what has to happen for you to say, “I did it”?
molodoy: Probably when I actually realise it, I’ll say it.
Interviewer: So there’s no specific goal like winning a Major or becoming HLTV top-1?
molodoy: You always want to be the best.
Interviewer: Since this interview will be published after Krakow, say a few words to the future. You can make a prediction or address yourself or the fans.
molodoy: No, no predictions. I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who supports FURIA. And support me too. Hugs to all.
Interviewer: Thank you.
