An exclusive interview with YEKINDAR from FURIA, along with the full material, is available on our new blog

Interviewer: Hello, everyone. We’re here with Marek YEKINDAR. First of all, congratulations on the win and on reaching the playoffs. Yesterday was a bit sad, of course, when you eliminated NAVI. Most Ukrainians were cheering for them.

YEKINDAR: Honestly, I felt a bit sad myself — I’m good friends with Valera and many of the NAVI guys. It was a good match. Overall, when we play against each other, we never get offended. That’s the game, that’s the sport. And yes, the match was really tough.

Interviewer: As someone who started supporting FURIA probably with your arrival, I can say it wasn’t that upsetting because it was you who did it. It would’ve felt worse if you got eliminated today, but you’re in the playoffs.

YEKINDAR: They said the same thing — that at least it shouldn’t be for nothing. They told us we must make the playoffs. And today we kept that promise. Individually, I was struggling a lot, to be honest. Either I ate something wrong, or there was some discomfort in my stomach. But fortunately, the team was fully armed today: everyone played really well, communicated well, and managed to close out the match.

Interviewer: What are your expectations for the playoffs overall? Is there anyone you’d like to face? Maybe some opponents you’d prefer to meet later?

YEKINDAR: Not really. Right now our main focus is the start of the season. We had some dips because we changed roles and came back after the break. We just want to gain experience. Whatever happens, happens. We’re not looking too far ahead — we’re living in the moment. Whoever ends up in front of us, that’s who we’ll prepare for and try to beat.

Interviewer: Last question. If you could take one quality from each of your teammates, what would it be? For example, the best fragger or game sense. Maybe Fallen’s understanding of the game?

YEKINDAR: I’ve said this several times already in interviews: Fallen’s leadership qualities are incredible. He knows exactly how to motivate the team, and he never raises his voice over some silly mistake. His composure — that’s something I’d love to have myself.

From KSCERATO — his clutch sense and his understanding of map movement. I think he’s really good at that.
From molodoy — his individual micro-mechanics with the AWP. Maybe I’d be like ZywOo if I had his micro level.
From yuurih — also his composure. For me, for example, it’s really hard to just sit still. He can sit for a minute or even a minute and twenty completely focused. And when an opponent walks into him, he kills them with no chance.

Interviewer: I saw ESL trying to convince yuurih to do an interview just now. It looked like your whole team was talking him into it.

YEKINDAR: Yeah, you see — Dania is sick, and I’m not feeling well today either. FalleN already did the interview last time, so the ones left were KSCERATO and yuurih. So we decided that yuurih should go.

Interviewer: Got it. Thank you very much. I wish you good luck in the playoffs and more wins.
