The Korean eSports Association (KeSPA) and Riot Games have announced the opening of the application process for South Korean cities that wish to host the playoff stage of the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) in 2027.
South Korea has already been selected as the host country for Worlds 2027, and KeSPA is now searching for specific locations to hold the most important stages of the tournament. Candidate cities must demonstrate the availability of proper infrastructure, large arenas (stadiums), the capacity to accommodate thousands of international fans, as well as readiness to provide financial and logistical support for the event.
KeSPA did not mention the early stages of the championship, which suggests that the venue for the first part of the competition may have already been decided.
The results of the bidding process and the name of the host city are expected to be announced during the first week of August, between August 3 and August 7, 2026.
For South Korea, this will be the fourth time the country hosts Worlds. The tournament was previously held there in 2014, 2018, and 2023.
Recall that Gentle Mates and FURIA were eliminated from VALORANT Masters Santiago 2026.
