Konami alongside French developer ZDT Studio has announced the release date of the humorous action platformer Darwin's Paradox!, starring an energetic octopus named Darwin.

The new trailer highlights several key points. First, the game is set to launch on April 2 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Second, players can already try a free demo available across all platforms. Third, Konami playfully references one of its iconic franchises, as the trailer features nods to Metal Gear Solid, including the ability for the protagonist to hide from enemies inside cardboard boxes.

Darwin's Paradox! is a lighthearted 2D platformer where an octopus finds himself stranded on land and discovers that a corporation is exploiting his kind to produce food and ink. Enraged by this revelation, Darwin sets out to stop the operation and eventually make his way back home.

The developers promise inventive levels and creative puzzles that are not overly difficult but add variety to the fast-paced gameplay. Darwin can use his tentacles to climb vertical surfaces, while swimming grants him increased speed, allowing him to dodge traps and navigate hazards more effectively.
