LEGO has confirmed that standard minifigures will appear in the Super Mario series.
As part of the announcement of new LEGO Mario Kart sets, which took place recently, the company showed for the first time how the iconic characters will look in the classic minifigure format.

These figures will be compatible with the new vehicles from the Mario Kart sub-series, finally allowing characters to sit inside the karts.
Previously, the only way to get Nintendo characters in LEGO scale was through custom fan-made figures or the Animal Crossing series. Since the start of the LEGO × Nintendo collaboration in 2020, the main characters of the line were large interactive figures of Mario, Luigi, and Peach with LCD screens instead of eyes and mouths.
